DragonFly MAX Hits Local Schools

MADISON- Electronic participation forms is the latest step in creating a solid healthcare foundation for high school athletes. Approved by the Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) and now in transition by both Bob Jones and James Clemens High Schools, DragonFly MAX is a new electronic documentation and audit program for athletic programs to keep a health record of all its athletes.

“There are many forms from the AHSAA and Madison City Schools that can be signed digitally on the program’s app or website,” said Rocky Smith, athletic director at James Clemens. “Once the forms are completed and signed the process is complete. There are no papers needed to be turned in.”

Once all of the necessary forms are completed and put in the new system, parents, students, coaches and school administration can easily follow an athlete’s progress through the updated documentation of everything associated with an athlete. DragonFly MAX can ensure AHSAA member schools have the most accurate and up-to-date information about their athletes’ health and eligibility status.

“The program assures all requirements are completed by the athlete before the athlete can be ruled eligible for competition,” said Smith. “Once registered, school administration will assign player’s accounts to sports teams once the athlete is officially on a roster.”

DragonFly MAX’s motto is: Get in the Game!-Stay in the Game! The space age type program is basically forms management and injury management. The quick and user friendly program assures athletes are properly signed up and completely ready to play using customized school forms already loaded into DragonFly MAX. Injury documentation and communication is carefully and privately kept track on everything the athlete is going through. With DragonFly MAX, no one in the athletic process is kept in the dark.

“There are many functions of DragonFly. It was created as a way for athletic trainers, coaches, student-athletes, and parents to communicate when a student-athlete gets hurt/injured, as well as sharing rehab and strength/conditioning exercises,” said Tom Runnion athletic director at Bob Jones. “The AHSAA is now partnered with DragonFly and we are using DragonFly’s services to collect and organize all eligibility paperwork.”

Parents of athletes are encouraged to contact their respective schools and obtain the necessary information regarding registration as soon as possible, as the new school year is fast approaching.
