Conquer The Hill 10K-5K Races Registration Now Open
Registration is open until April 22 for the 2019 running of the Conquer The Hill Madison City 10 and 5K races scheduled for Saturday, April 27 beginning at Dublin Memorial Park.

Conquer The Hill 10K-5K Races Registration Now Open

MADISON- Registration is currently wide open for the 2019 Conquer The Hill Madison City 10 and 5K races scheduled for Saturday, April 27.

Hosted by the City of Madison Parks and Recreation Dept., the races are centered on the “Eastview Hill” between Slaughter and Hughes Roads and are fun, but challenging for all levels of runners. Each of the courses are USATF certified. The 10K race will begin at 7:30 a.m. with the 5K event getting the start gun at 7:40 a.m. with the starting line at Dublin Memorial Park.

In 2018, Josh Whitehead, 39, was the overall winner of the 10K with a time of 36-minutes, 18-seconds to lead the 69 participants while Tamra Smith, 58, was the top female winner with a time of 54:32. The 5K race was won by Ben Bower, 38, with a time of 20:28 while Hannah Thuss, 15, was tops in the female division with a time of 27:06. Sixty-eight runners participated in the 5K event.

Registration fees are $30 for the 10K and $25 for the 5K until April 22. Registration forms are available at Dublin Memorial Park and on-line at www.madisonal.gov/mcr.

Sponsorships are available and range from a title sponsor at $2,500 to a water sponsor at $150. Details on sponsorships, registration and the race are available by e-mailing madisoncityrace@madisonal.gov or by calling 256-772-9300.

Registration is open until April 22 with each participant receiving a race T-shirt. Awards will be given out in numerous categories immediately after the event.
