Jets split double-header with Madison Academy, will travel to Bob Jones Tuesday
MADISON – On Senior Day at the Jetsplex, the James Clemens Jets split two games with Madison Academy on Saturday, losing the opener, 8-5, but coming back to win the nightcap, 7-2.
In the opener, Evan Jacklin pitched three strong innings, but MA scored four runs in the fourth to take a 5-2 lead. The two runs scored by the Jets in the seventh inning were not enough to complete a comeback.
In the second game, Cory Hagood pitched five strong innings, allowing only two runs. Jayce Ingalls and Connor Cantrell pitched scoreless innings to preserve the 7-2 victory.
At the plate, Connor Cantrell led the team with three hits on the day, adding two RBIs. Joseph Crosson and Jackson Taylor each contributed two hits for the Jets.
The Jets begin their final Area 8 series at Bob Jones on Tuesday night, needing a win there and at home on Thursday to make the playoffs.
