Asbury to host ‘Marriage Refresh’ on Feb. 18

MADISON – In today’s world, keeping a marriage intact can be more difficult than ever before … let alone to find ways to make a marriage stronger and healthier. To help in this commitment, Asbury United Methodist Church has scheduled a class that will be free for married couples to attend.

Asbury’s family class, “Marriage Refresh,” on Feb. 18 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. can equip couples, or anyone looking for a fresh perspective on relationships, with healthy tools for communications. The session will examine conflict management and good relational connections that also are helpful for other relationships with children, family and friends.

Two area counselors and relationship experts Carl and Lisa Peck will lead “Marriage Refresh.” The Pecks are dedicated to helping people experience relational revival.

“One of our passions as a church is to see families thrive in the North Alabama area,” Chris Knox said. Knox serves as Pastor of Engagement at Asbury.

“With Carl and Lisa’s dynamic approach to relationships, our hope is for families to enter our doors and leave feeling better equipped and cared for as we laugh and love our way into more meaningful connections and grow healthier families together,” Knox said.

Carl and Lisa Peck have their own counseling and consulting ministry in Huntsville. They have been in practice for more than 25 years. In addition to private practice, both have been serving as trainers and partners with the Great Commandment Network (formerly Intimate Life Ministries) for more than two decades by conducting seminars and workshops around the country on singles and marriage/family-related issues.

The Pecks both graduated from Denver Seminary. They have been married for 24 years.

To register free for “Marriage Refresh,” visit weareasbury.com/familyclasses. With registration, individuals can request free KidsCare for children who are six weeks old up to fifth-grade age.

Asbury’s Family Class series for the community provides a way to connect families with local experts to become better equipped and strengthened for life together.
