Vintson Exits James Clemens Softball Program; To Join The FBI

MADISON- A new calling in life has caused Brittany Vintson to resign as head coach of the James Clemens softball program. After three seasons in her position, Vintson will change careers and become a Special Agent for the F.B.I.

“It’s definitely a major career change as the job sort of just fell into my lap,” said Vintson, 31. “I’ve always had a major interest in criminal law, but never thought about being in the F.B.I. before the job was posted.”

Vintson posted a 50-56-1 record while with the Lady Jets including a 29-18-1 mark in 2019 where her team won the area championship. A 9-29 mark in the just completed 2021 season was good enough to finish area runner-up. The 2020 campaign, cut short by the pandemic, the Jets were 12-9.

Prior to coming to Madison for her position at James Clemens, Vintson coached three seasons at Cordova where her teams won area titles and made the state final four in 2017.

She played collegiately at Birmingham-Southern before transferring to the University of Alabama where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Language Arts. She went on to earn a Master of Arts degree in Guidance and Counseling from West Alabama.

As for her move to the F.B.I., Vintson will have to play the waiting game on where she will be placed as a Special Agent after she completes the academy training. “I would love to be placed back in Huntsville,” said Vintson.

“This is an opportunity I just could not pass up, so I jumped on it and I am super excited,” added Vintson.
