Driving Nights for Galaxy of Lights begin today at Huntsville Botanical Garden

HUNTSVILLE – Galaxy of Lights Driving Nights begin today, Dec. 1, at the Huntsville Botanical Garden and will continue through Dec. 16. An annual holiday event for 27 years, Galaxy of Lights includes both walking and driving experiences from Nov. 11 through Jan. 1.

This year, Driving Nights are available for a shorter length of time due to the increase in the number of Walking Nights from 17 dates in 2021 to 31 dates.

“We love Driving Nights! We increased the number of Walking Nights this year in response to the growing demand for more walking opportunities, but we love how Driving Nights offer a completely different kind of experience,” said Rebecca Turk, director of learning and public engagement at the Garden. “The driving experience is a comfortable, accessible way to enjoy Galaxy of Lights.”

With the change in dates, guests are encouraged to make their plans soon if they would like to enjoy the driving experience. The Garden also offers tips for beating traffic on their website.

“The dates for Driving Nights have changed from previous years, so we encourage everyone to check their calendars and come out for the driving experience here in early December,” said Turk. “And remember to come early in the week and early in the evening if you can. Friday and Saturday evenings after dinnertime are some of our busiest times!”

Galaxy of Lights Driving Nights take place Thursday, Dec. 1, through Friday, Dec. 16, from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. (time of last admission). Ticket prices range from $20 to $35 per vehicle (limit of 10 passengers) with a $5 discount available at the gate on Mondays for active and retired military personnel with valid ID. Tickets for Driving Nights can be purchased upon arrival or pre-purchased for any date at hsvbg.org/galaxy. All proceeds directly support the mission of the Huntsville Botanical Garden, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Galaxy of Lights is presented by the Damson Automotive Group.
