Sectional Track Meets See Plenty Of Talent- Next Up: State Meet

Sectional Track Meets See Plenty Of Talent- Next Up: State Meet

SCOTTSBORO-  Huntsville High School came away the dominate winner taking both the boys and girls championships in the Class 7A Sectional track and field championships while Bob Jones, James Clemens and Sparkman bounced around finishing among the top five teams in both divisions.

Held in Scottsboro, the qualifying meet for the AHSAA State Meet was highlighted by the Crimson Panthers winning the girls sectional title by 30 points over the Sparkman Lady Senators while the boys championship trophy was won by 35 points over runner-up James Clemens.

Overall, Sparkman led the local teams taking home 24 medals while James Clemens won 20 and Bob Jones winning 18. James Clemens reported to have qualified 30 athletes for the State Meet held in Gulf Shores.

Meanwhile, the Madison Academy boys fared very well in the Class 3A Section 4 meet winning 14 medals including gold medals in the three sprint relays and individual gold in both the 100 and 200-meter races.
