New businesses enter Madison area as city continues to grow

June was a busy month for new businesses cropping up around Madison. A slew of groundbreakings and ribbon cuttings officially extended a warm welcome to several new businesses to the city.

Red clay ground was broken on a multi-tenant plaza in the Clift Farm development that will house Madison’s first Cookie Fix and Nothing But Noodles. Leeland Ventures is behind the 10,000 square foot space that is located at 170 Uncle frank Boulevard and near the Publix and Ardent Preschool.

Homewood Suites

Homewood Suites joins the expanding lineup of hotels in Town Madison. PHD (Practicing Hospitality Daily) Hotels is bringing the Homewood Suites to life near Toyota Field next to the Interstate exit ramp into Town Madison with one hundred suite-style rooms each one outfitted with a kitchen. The Hilton brand hotel is expected to include Hilton’s new and cutting-edge technology called Connected Rooms that allows guests to control various aspects of their room from the TV to the thermostat all from their phone.

President of PHD Hotels, Chris Chavis, called Madison “the perfect area”. “It’s interesting that we’re here in Madison,” he said, “where the research and development and technology is just of kind booming.”

Construction is expected to take about another year to complete with an opening date projected within the next twelve to fourteen months. The Homewood Suites will be PHD Hotel’s third hotel in Town Madison and the fifth hotel total in the development.

Trash Pandas Emporium

The Rocket City Trash Pandas finally have an additional team store in their home city of Madison. After several years of occupying spaces at Bridge Street Town Center, the Trash Pandas Emporium opened its doors at a new location in Hughes Plaza on Hughes Road. All your favorite gear for your favorite local baseball team is now available closer to home.

At the ribbon cutting for the store, Mayor Finley expressed enthusiasm for the new location, “We are thrilled to have you in Madison and to have you here in Madison,” On the comradery the team has brought to the city, he added, “It just gives us something that brings us together.”

These businesses are joining the ever-growing lineup of businesses opening their doors in the Madison area. Clift Farm and Town Madison are epicenters of the growth and are set to welcome even more restaurants, shops, and hotels like Culver’s, Edgar’s Bakery, Courtyard and Residence Inn, and more in the very near future.
