MVP opens application process for 2025 Community Impact Grants

MADISON – Madison Visionary Partners or MVP has opened the application window for eligible groups to apply for a 2025 Community Impact Grant.

These grants serve to benefit the City of Madison. The following guidelines define the eligible organizations for the grants: described in Code Section 170(c)(2); 501(c) (3); 2055(a)(2); or 2522(a)(2), except for private foundations as defined by Code Section 509(a).

The location for the applicant’s base of operations must be Madison County, Alabama. “Amounts can be requested from $500 to $2,500. Grants may be funded at a lower amount than requested,” MVP Executive Director Christina Hearne said.

Grant requests must demonstrate a direct impact on the quality of life in the City of Madison. Officials will reject applications that do not clearly define this impact.

For example, a Community Impact Grant helped the Paws for a Purpose fund to allow Madison City Schools to place a facility dog, Fern, at Heritage Elementary School.

MVP has defined broad categories for existing needs that a grant request could satisfy. Animal welfare is one need, as are food security, agriculture and nutrition. A grant certainly could promote the arts and humanities.

Education and literacy are pertinent areas for a grant. Other categories are health and safety; housing and shelter; human services; and workforce development.

MVP will not fund a grant for administrative expenses, advertising, restructuring, fundraising events, political activities, commissioned studies, religious programs, scholarships or travel expenses.

Applicants must submit applications with MVP’s online form. The application needs to include the amount requested for a grant, name and description of project, the organization’s historical details, timeline and total budget, expected outcome and the audience who will benefit, among other details.

Applicants must attach a copy of IRS tax determination/eligibility to the application.

MVP’s Board of Directors will approve grant requests and notify recipients by March 7, 2025.

Applications will be due on Feb. 21, 2025, and funds will be available on March 27, 2025. Groups must use funds within one year of receipt. Recipients must credit ‘Madison Visionary Partners’ in any marketing materials.

MVP staff will recognize recipients of the 2025 Community Impact Grants at the Madison Visionary Awards breakfast on March 27, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at the Jackson Center. A representative from each recipient organization should attend to receive the award.

MVP’s objective is to connect caring people with initiatives that enrich Madison’s quality of life. For more information, call 256-384-4358, email info@mvpmadison. org or christina@mvpmadison. org, or visit mvpmadison.org.
