FCA to host “Behind the Bench” mother-daughter night on Feb. 13 at Toyota Field

MADISON – The bond between a mother and daughter is one that can be magical and forever bring the two together in ways they only understand. In athletics, many times this bond assists in being successful on the playing field, but more importantly in all aspects of life and in their faith.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) will concentrate on the female bonding of mother-daughter in the “Behind the Bench” mother- daughter night on Thursday, Feb. 13, 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Toyota Field in an event that is expected to be eye-opening and enriching to all who attend.

The special evening is free for all softball teams and coaches who pre-register at 256-509-3692. Regular tickets are $10 and includes a dinner

to be provided.

Special guest inspirational speaker will be three-time Olympic Gold Medalist in women’s softball player Leah O’Brien-Amico. The now 50year old uses a powerful platform and influence as a decorated and accomplished athlete to bring the knowledge of Jesus through FCA events throughout the country. She earned three consecutive gold medals for the U.S. in the Olympics (1996, 2000, and 2004) coming in Atlanta, Sydney and Athens and is a member of the USA Softball Hall of Fame.
