Annual Tinkerfest STEAM Initiative hits the streets of downtown Huntsville on Saturday

HUNTSVILLE — It is full STEAM ahead at EarlyWorks Children’s Museum this weekend as our annual Tinkerfest hits the streets Saturday, September 19 starting at 9 a.m.

Magic meets the wonders of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) to bring about a block party of discovery, curiosity, and creativity for kids and their families.

The day-long innovation celebration takes place throughout the EarlyWorks Children’s Museum on Madison Street in downtown Huntsville but spreads out across the neighborhood onto Gates Avenue and historic Alabama Constitution Hall Park.

Tinkerfest will also feature Partners in Play interactive exhibits, local vendors and food trucks.

Children are encouraged to unleash their creativity while interacting with the exhibits while local vendors showcase their crafts. The many hands-on activities invite children to use innovative tools and devices to explore firsthand how things work.

There will be fun and educational exhibits, opportunities to design gadgets, build things, learn more about robotics, and watch artists bring their dreams and ideas to life.

Whether you are fascinated with the mechanics of robotics, enjoy the art of architecture, or are intrigued by the ingenuity of engineering, Tinkerfest lets kids tinker alongside skilled makers and craftspeople to design their own projects.
