Courthouse closed and no garbage collection Monday

Due to forecasted severe weather of snow and ice accumulations, the Madison County Courthouse will be closed Monday, Jan. 10.

That does include the Alabama 23rd Judicial Circuit Court proceedings which occur in the Madison County Courthouse involving judges and staff for state court proceedings.

Jurors do not have to report until courts reopen.

There will also be no household garbage collection on Monday by the Madison County Sanitation Department. If weather permits, Monday garbage will be collected Tuesday. All other weekly scheduled pick up will remain the same.

Madison County road crews are on standby to assist in outlying districts and have active emergency response plans.
