Bee Bee Dizon; May 28, 2011

Bee Bee Dizon, 58, of Madison passed away Saturday, May 28.

Bee Bee was born in Cebu City, Philippines, to Uy Tian Chiong & Ong Ley Hong. She was the eldest of six children.

Bee Bee graduated magna cum laude from the University of San Carlos in Cebu City with a B.S. in mathematics and went on to earn her master’s degree in statistics at the University of the Philippines in Manila. During her time at U.P. she met and eventually married John Dizon. The two of them moved to California where they lived and raised three children for close to 30 years.

Bee Bee had many interests and hobbies, including gardening, reading and swimming. Her thirst for adventure was well known as she enjoyed scuba diving, hiking, spelunking and rock climbing. Her love for dachshunds sometimes made her kids jealous, but her devotion and unconditional love towards family and friends is what resonates in everyone she knew. She was always there for a friend in need and had an infectious smile that would brighten your day.

Bee Bee is survived by her husband, John Dizon of Madison; son and daughter-in-law, Jeffrey Dizon and Kelly Fujikawa of Seattle, Wash.; son, Jerrold Dizon of Union City, Calif.; daughter, Barbara Dizon of Union City, Calif.; mother, Ong Ley Hong of Cebu City, Philippines; brothers and sisters; nieces and nephews; and 3 dachshunds.

Viewings will be held at 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1 at Laughlin Service Funeral Home and at 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Thursday, June 2 at the St. John the Baptist Catholic Church with a funeral service following at 3 p.m. Thursday, June 2 at the Church.
