Culinary festival brings ‘great turnout’

Michelle Nesin, owner of Nesin Therapy Services, tastes chocolate-covered strawberries from The Melting Pot.

It was food galore at the Madison Chamber of Commerce’s North Alabama Culinary Festival.

Held at the Holiday Inn in Madison, more than 20 food purveyors brought their best dishes for the public to taste. The community was able to try everything from pizza to chocolate strawberries.

“We love to have different food vendors in so that they can showcase their products,” said Lou Galipeau, manager investor relations for the chamber.

Last year, the event was called Taste of Madison, this year, the name was expanded to include all vendors in the area.

The festival also served as a way for the chamber to raise money.

“It was a great turnout,” Galipeau said. “We’re guessing we had 300 to 400 people come out and try the food. We really appreciated being supported by the community.”
