Patriots pull out win against Florence, 10-7

Bob Jones is still perfect as they defeated Florence 10-7, in a close game between two football powerhouses.
The game, which was played at Braly Municpial Stadium, opened up with solid defense from both teams, but Bob Jones broke the defensive pressure from Florence in the first quarter and scored a field goal going up 3-0.
With seven minutes left in the first half, Bob Jones forced a fumble and scored, but was called back because of a personal foul. Florence came back and scored a 3-yard run touchdown, leaving the score 7-3 at the half.
The Patriots struck once again with a 25-yard flea flicker pass that led to a Reggie Ragland touchdown at the end of the third quarter.
Florence was not done either as they received a key sack on Patriots’ quarterback, Jeffery Moss, with 2:09 left. But, they weren’t able to deliver the second touchdown that would have given them the game.
“We played hard, we played a very good team and they kept us playing the whole game,” Ragland said. “Now, we need to go practice hard and get ready for the next game.”
The Patriots will play Grissom Friday night for Homecoming.
