The parade is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. at the corner of Portal Lane and Hughes Road. The route will go north on Hughes and end at Bob Jones.

Bob Jones High School’s annual Homecoming Parade down Hughes Road will be held this Thursday evening.

The parade is scheduled to begin at 5:30 p.m. at the corner of Portal Lane and Hughes Road. The route will go north on Hughes and end at Bob Jones.

Robin Lakso, co-chair of the parade committee, said Hughes Road will close right before the parade starts. She said Portal Lane from Hughes Road to Shelton Road will close at 4 p.m. The roads will reopen once the parade ends around 6:30.

The parade’s theme is Patriot Tailgate Grill Grissom.

The parade will feature appearances from the entire homecoming court, eight members of the Bob Jones Hall of Fame who will also serve as Grand Marshals, all Madison City School principals, Mayor Paul Finley and Triana Mayor Mary Caudle, Sen. Bill Holtzclaw and members for the board of education.

The parade will be led by the Bob Jones band and Junior Air Force ROTC.

“Come and enjoy yourself. It’ll be a beautiful evening,” Lakso said.
