Weighing in at 8 pounds and four ounces, McLemore, born to parents Erin and Josh, holds the title as the first baby born at Madison Hospital.
McLemore was originally scheduled to come into the world June 15, but Erin started having contractions early.
“She was coming today regardless, whether she was planned or not,” she laughed.
The two said they had no idea their daughter would be the first baby until the day of the birth.
“That thought never crossed my mind,” Erin said.
Erin described Paige’s birth as “bittersweet.” The couple had a daughter, Madeline Paige, born on Halloween 2009, who died at six months old.
“It was pretty emotional,” Erin said about McLemore’s birth. “Lots of crying. Lots of happy tears… and bittersweet tears.”
But, Erin said McClemore came into the world “screaming and pink” and they could not have asked for anything more.
“It makes it [the birth] that more special, with her being the first here,” Josh said.
The couple has no time to rest. Erin’s 30th birthday is tomorrow.
McLemore’s grandparents are Roger and Phyllis Malone, and the late Dwight and Wanda McConnell.
