TVRC hosting Huntsville mayoral debate
The Tennessee Valley Republican Club is holding a Huntsville mayoral forum and debate next week.
Smith said this is the first time the club has held a forum of this type, and they are looking to host a similar forum for Madison city mayoral candidates.
The forum will be held Saturday July 14 from 8:45a.m. to 10 a.m. at The Inn at Madison located on 9035 Madison Boulevard.
“We’re trying to help citizens stay informed on what’s happening in the city,” said Program Director David Smith. “This also gives candidates the opportunity to learn each candidate’s platform.”
Smith said this is the first time the club has held a forum of this type, and they are looking to host a similar forum for Madison city mayoral candidates.
All three Huntsville Mayoral Candidates have accepted. Current Mayor Tommy Battle, former Mayor Loretta Spencer and Jackie Reed all said they were excited about speaking at such an event. The meeting will be open to the public and members of the media.
A large crowd is expected to be in attendance. Admission is free.
