“Each year, deserving students, former faculty members and community volunteers are nominated and some elected into the Bob Jones Hall of Fame,” principal Robby Parker said. “It is a great honor.”

“After the homecoming parade, they will have a reception and will be honored at halftime of the homecoming game,” Parker said.

In addition, the honoree’s photographs and biographical sketches will be exhibited in the newly renovated case for the hall of fame in the Zompa Auditorium lobby.

Tamara Jackson Candis, Class of 1992, participated in the dance and cheer squads and Student Government Association. Candis is an assistant principal in Gwinnett County (Ga.) Schools and will complete her doctorate degree at Georgia Southern University in August 2013.

A 1982 graduate, Steve Haraway was a quarterback in Patriots football and has volunteered consistently since for Bob Jones. He soon will relinquish his seat with Madison City Council, District 2 to take office as a Madison County commissioner.

Patrick Jacklin, Class of 1978, was one of the first National Merit Semifinalists in Bob Jones history. Jacklin, a business owner, has coached soccer at Bob Jones for 17 years.

In basketball, Candace Storey Lee was an All-State player and named state player of the year. Lee was homecoming queen and Miss Bob Jones. A 1996 graduate, she was awarded a full scholarship to Vanderbilt University, where she now works in the school’s administration.

Dr. Jason Parker graduated from Bob Jones in 1992. He works as an oral surgeon in Montgomery.

Hall of Fame recognizes outstanding alumni who have maintained a high standard of excellence and made a significant contribution in their fields of endeavor. The inductee’s professional background must involve civic contributions and community involvement, along with awards, honors and various offices in organizations.
