High-speed chase veers through Madison

(RECORD PHOTO: Andy Meyer)

Around 1 p.m. on Saturday, Madison police assisted Huntsville units in high-speed pursuit of a red sports utility vehicle. The chase began on I-565 until the vehicle exited on Madison Boulevard, where the SUV hit one vehicle, Lt. John Stringer with Madison Police Department said.

“The vehicle re-entered I-565, and another collision occurred when the vehicle was chased to the off ramp at Sparkman Drive. Injuries were involved. Madison Police Department shut down side roads for protection and maintained traffic support until Huntsville units arrived to coordinate the effort,” Stringer said.
