MADISON – Abby Lee Harmon has joined the Madison Chamber of Commerce staff as investor relations manager.

A Madison native, Harmon attended Madison Academy and graduated cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in commerce and business at the University of Alabama.

Harmon previously worked as director of sales, marketing and public relations for Harmony Landscapes & Pond, as an independent distributor for Premier Designs and loan clerk and originator/processor at Traders & Farmers Bank. She completed an internship with Huntsville Hospital administration.

While working at Harmony Landscapes, Harmon got involved with chamber activities and quickly bonded with members. Since last October, she has served as a chamber ambassador. “Being an original ‘Madisonite,’ I am passionate about the community and the development of enterprise, while maintaining a hometown atmosphere,” she said.

Putting real faces on local businesses is a must, Harmon said.

The Madison chamber focuses on three areas of service: investing, connecting and growing. “My goal is to build a strong relationship between our community and businesses. The recognition gained, exposure given and connections made are an invaluable aspect of this organization,” Harmon said.

In addition, Harmon will aid businesses and residents in collaborating to achieve optimal investor-community relationships. “Communication is a key aspect regarding the success of the chamber. I want current members, as well as potential members, aware of our varied benefits,” she said.

Those chamber benefits include advertising and marketing opportunities, like the business directory and printed and online newsletters. Monthly luncheons, committees and after-hours events offer networking connections, Harmon said. Businesses benefit from grand openings, ribbon cuttings and groundbreaking ceremonies.

In volunteer work, Harmon served as public relations representative for the Arley Civitan Club.

Madison Chamber of Commerce’s address is 130 Park Square Lane in Hogan Family YMCA. For more information, call 256-325-8317, ext. 321, email to abbylee@madisonalchamber.com or visit madisonALchamber.com.
