MADISON — Madison Police will be hosting a community event for a fantastic cause in Jude to make sure “no parent ever has to tell their child that they don’t have enough money to help them get better.”

The first ever “Fun 4 Lives” event will take place at Dublin Park in Madison on June 15 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. will all proceeds going to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Detective Tanner Wilkerson, who is a member of the Madison Police social committee with Lt. Wayne Kamus, said that the event is great way to donate to a hospital that is focused on helping children recover from a disease and putting the minds of the parents at ease.

“This is going to be a great event because all of the proceeds, every single dollar goes to St. Jude,” he said. “This charity event is open to the public and there will be a small donation fee at the soccer fields at Dublin but it is going to be a fantastic time.”

Wilkerson said inflatable games, carnival games and an opportunity to dunk-a-cop are sure to put the smiles on the faces of Madison residents.

Businesses like Jump To It and the Wal-Mart in Madison have already lined up to help out at the event by donating various items. Wilkerson said that businesses and the community can still make out donations for the event by either calling (256) 722-6259 or emailing Tanner.Wilkerson@madisonal.gov.

“We don’t want any parent to have to worry about taking care of their sick child so we hope we can walk away with a big check,” he said.
