MADISON – Is that Elvis in the back seat of the pink Cadillac?

Concertgoers will see for themselves when The Cadillacs Band cruises in with its vintage convertible and classy nostalgia of the 1950s and 1960s at the Madison Gazebo Concert on June 6.

Madison Arts Council sponsors the annual gazebo concerts.

The Cadillacs Band’s music catalog has country hits like “Yakety Sax,” “Louisiana Saturday Night” and “Folsom Prison Blues.” The Cadillacs let it roll with rockabilly on tunes like “Great Balls of Fire,” “Honky Tonk,” “Blueberry Hill” and “Run Around Sue.

For the blues fans in the audience, the band will offer their renditions of “Blue Bayou,” “What’d I Say?” and “Mean Woman Blues.”

The band also accepts audience requests from artists like Sam Cooke, Roy Orbison, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Ventures … and, of course, the King of Rock and Roll, Elvis Presley.

“We have a very pleasing-to-the-ear repertoire, with a long list of songs we can perform, including many of the real hits heard during the era,” band member Dennis Odem said. Odem plays bass, emcees their show and sings vocals and harmony.

In addition to his music, Odem has practiced law for 35 years in Florence. He and his wife Carolyn have converted a room in their house for rehearsals, recording sessions for The Cadillacs and even jam sessions with musicians.

Ernie Norton of Muscle Shoals retired as an electrical engineer from Pfizer Corporation. Norton is the band’s lead vocalist, lead guitar and arranges their music charts.

Tom ‘Sax Man’ Pallardy lives near Nashville and also plays keyboard and sings. Pallardy has performed with music legends, ranging from George Jones to Percy Sledge. Ray Wix of Leoma, Tenn. masters the guitar for The Cadillacs Band and has been compared to Chet Atkins.
