MADISON – Sassy Bo Spa and Makeup is the latest business to open on Main Street.

Owner and makeup artist Angie Raetz opened her business at 16 Main St. in historic Clay house. Raetz is a licensed esthetician in Alabama and Tennessee.

Sassy Bo offers several facials, including the “lunch express” and micro-dermabrasion, and SassyBo Signature chemical peels. Clients can enjoy body treatments with hot stone massage and body wraps.

Male and female waxing, eyebrow and eyelash tint and eyelash extensions are available. Raetz provides sunless airbrush tanning, makeup airbrushing, Dream Catchers Hair Extensions, skincare classes, SassyBo Skincare Products and Airbrush Foundation.

“Sassy Bo” was her father’s nickname for her. As the youngest and only girl, “I definitely had to live up to the name to survive,” she said.

After cosmetology in high school, Raetz studied computer sciences and obtained her real estate license. However, her first love remained in cosmetology. “I’ve been lucky to work on photo shoots, music videos, commercials and fashion week. Now I have my own spa, skincare line and airbrush makeup,” she said.

“I absolutely love what I do. I’ve worked very hard to become knowledgeable and proficient in my career,” Raetz said. She believes the field demands continual training. “My main goal is to make sure my clients feel relaxed and completely happy with the results.”

Her work “doesn’t feel like a job. I’m fortunate to do exactly what I’m passionate about,” Raetz said.

Sassy Bo’s downtown location pleases Raetz. “Within our building is a wonderful salon, Salon 106. We’re definitely a one-stop place for women and men. Esthetics have grown to more than just a luxury service. It’s becoming essential for taking care of our skin and relaxing in a stressful life.”

Raetz plans to sponsor workshops for airbrush foundation, makeup application and skincare.

SassyBo Spa & Make-Up is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Most services do require appointments. For more information, call 256-503-2981, email to info@SassyBoMakeup.com or visit SassyBoMakeup.com or Facebook/SassyBoSpa.
