Hours for the American-as-apple-pie event on Oct. 11 are 5 to 10 p.m. and on Oct. 12 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. The Jets baseball team will receive proceeds.

This year, organizers are emphasizing the ‘fall festival’ aspect. “When you bring kids to the carnival, a great shopping experience will be awaiting, too,” spokesperson Paula Wheeler said.

Vendors registered to-date are Pampered Chef, Origami Owl, It Works Global, Alexander’s Martial Arts, Thirty One Gifts, several independent jewelry makers, embroidery and crafts, specialty foods, coffees and church and service organizations.

“Adults can get a jump on holiday shopping while supporting our local businesses,” Wheeler said.

“We’re making it like the Madison Street Festival by having local businesses set up booths,” head baseball coach Shane Medlen said. “Our carnival was a big success last year and hope it is even bigger this year.

“Hopefully, the carnival festival will be a place where people in the community can come shop a little to support local businesses, and their kids can play at the carnival and have a big time,” Medlen said.

Daredevils can try the Ferris wheel, swings, slide, Hustler, Zipper, Scrambler, bumper and kiddie cars and carousel. Carnival concessions will tempt visitors with steak or sausage sandwiches, corn dogs, fries, funnel cakes, snow cones, candy apples, popcorn, cotton candy, elephant ears, lemonade and fountain drinks.

Games of chance will include ring toss, dunk tank and booths with James Clemens and Liberty Middle School clubs.

Admission is $3 or free for five-year-olds and younger. Ride bands are available on both days.

Deadline for booth registration is Sept. 30. For details, email to jamesclemensbaseball@gmail.com.
