Arts benefactors, friends to gather for Amore Art dinner fundraiser

MADISON – Sponsored by Madison Arts Council (MAC), the Amore Art evening will produce grants to keep fine arts alive in the classroom.

Madison’s Best Western Plus will host Amore Art on Oct. 10 at 6 p.m. “Like the name says, it’s all for the love of the arts,” event chairman Beth Ridgeway said.

Amore Art is MAC’s only annual fundraiser. “We meet with MAC members, showcase the year’s achievements and raise money to make next year even better,” Ridgeway said.

MAC will use proceeds for grants to teachers. “In this competitive era, creative thinkers and students who are innovative (have) an extra edge as they move forward in their lives,” Ridgeway said. “Art is so important to education because of the skills it teaches our students: collaboration, dedication, constructive feedback and problem solving.”

As guests arrive, photographers will offer to capture views. Port of Madison’s Executive Chef Jason Dille has created an Italian menu with choice of farfalle con pollo al sugo (chicken pasta) or roasted vegetable marinara over linguini, along with salad, bread and dessert.

Huntsville-based Redheaded Stepchild will play smooth sounds and powerful vocals all evening.

“Just by purchasing a ticket, you’re not only in for a good time but you’ll be supporting the arts,” Ridgeway said.

After dinner, guests are eligible for silent auctions and drawings. “MAC has been overwhelmed by the generosity of community businesses and artists,” coordinator Shrail Heinrich said.

“Guests (can) win everything from a Takamine Guitar to original art, including a framed piece by City Councilman Gerald Clark and a football signed by Coach Gus Malzahn,” Heinrich said.

With one valued at more than $500, about ten baskets have themes like “A Round of Applause”, “ART You Looking Fabulous” and “Creating Memories.” The “Body of Art” basket includes photography, hair and make-up, Pure Barre classes and spa, Heinrich said.

Tickets are $30. For tickets, visit Lily Pond Art Studio, 12060 County Line Road, Suite D-7, email to info@artsmadison.org or visit artsmadison.org or Facebook/madisonartscouncil.
