Reported robbery actually involved self-inflicted gunshot
MADISON – Investigators with Madison Police Department have determined that a reported robbery on Jan. 4 actually involved self-inflicted gunshot wounds with the alleged victim.
On the evening of Jan. 4, officers responded to a shooting call at the County Inn and Suites on Westchester Road, just north of Madison Boulevard.
“It was reported that a male victim had been shot during a robbery. Investigators obtained information that the non-life threatening injuries sustained by the alleged victim were self-inflicted,” officers said.
The incident remains under investigation.
