HUNTSVILLE – Astronaut T.J. Creamer will be the keynote speaker at the National Space Club – Huntsville luncheon on Jan. 30.

The meeting will convene at 11:30 a.m. at the Jackson Center, 6001 Moquin Drive. The luncheon is open to the public and National Space Club members, but seating is limited. Student members or guests can attend free.

Creamer serves as payload operations director for the International Space Station (ISS). The Payload Operations Integration Center at NASA/Marshall Space Flight Center is celebrating 12 years of science support for the ISS. Creamer is the first astronaut to become payload director.

Creamer was an Expedition 22/23 crew member from December 2009 to June 2010. With about five months on the ISS, “you are able to come away with a good impression of what the station environment looks like and how the operations work from day to day,” he said.

“We’re here managing payloads and science experiments 24/7, 365 days of the year,” he noted.

Before the luncheon, the National Space Club will host the NASA Marshall Partnership Forum at the Jackson Center from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Individuals can attend the forum at no charge but should register by emailing to Tracy.Lamm@lmco.com.

In addition, the National Space Club – Huntsville will conduct a breakfast meeting on Feb. 25 at 7:30 a.m. at the Dynetics Solutions Complex. NASA Associate Administrator Robert Lightfoot will discuss the president’s 2015 proposed budget.

To register for the luncheon, visit spaceclub-hsv.org. For more information, call Barbara Jo Webb at 256-431-7947 or e-mail to barbarajo.webb@spaceclub-hsv.org.
