The symphony’s concert is scheduled for 11 a.m.

Asbury United Methodist Church in Madison will host another concert on March 1 at 5 p.m. in the Grace Building. Preceding the concert, family activities will start at 3:30 p.m.

On March 2, First United Methodist Church in Athens will host the symphony concert at 2 p.m.

The 2013-2014 Painted Violin Society and Damson Automotive Group are sponsoring the concerts and recreation time for families.

Huntsville Symphony Orchestra extends its influence on the area’s quality of life with its educational activities — outside the Von Braun Concert Hall. The ensemble and staff nurture an appreciation for classical music and develop new audiences for a sustainable future. (hso.org)

Sessions in Madison, Morgan and Limestone counties assist the orchestra in becoming an asset for the North Alabama and Tennessee Valley areas.

Artists-in-residence and arts-in-education programs reach students in impoverished schools and populations. In addition, families can attend 45-minute rehearsals for upcoming performances at the concert hall without paying admission.

In February, the orchestra collaborated with the Huntsville Symphony Orchestra Guild to present the 2014 Young People’s Concerts to more than 7,000 fourth-graders — at no cost. Music director and conductor Gregory Vajda led the orchestra in “Peter and the Wolf.”
