MADISON – How many credits in physics can I get in high school? What is a four-year plan? These questions and many others can be answered at curriculum fairs tonight at Bob Jones and James Clemens high schools.

At Bob Jones, the curriculum fair will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. in the cafeteria. Administrators see the fair as an excellent opportunity to meet with counselors, obtain registration details and explore possible courses for the student.

Instructors will discuss career tech academies for engineering, fashion, health science, biomedical, culinary and building science. Families can learn about core subjects, performance-based arts and dual enrollment.

Before the fair, teachers will host meetings about advanced-placement courses in the media center at 5:30 and again at 6:30 p.m. At those times, prospective freshmen can attend a registration meeting in the audio-visual room near Zompa Auditorium.

Bob Jones PTSA will conduct a meeting at 7 p.m. in the audio-visual room.

At James Clemens, registration discussions on March 17 will help prospective freshman prepare for high school in the next school year.

Four-year plans for students are available at the Liberty Middle School website (lms.madisoncity.k12.al.us) and the course catalog. Liberty counselors will post additional details on the counseling pages; click “Guidance” on Liberty’s home page.

In upcoming weeks, Liberty counselors will work with eighth-graders who have not completed a four-year plan. Plans will be sent home for parent signatures when all eighth-grade students have completed their plans.

The James Clemens curriculum fair will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. in the auxiliary gym. Discussions about advanced-placement classes will be held at 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium.

The ‘Rising Jet’ meeting will be at 7:15 p.m. in the auditorium.

For more information, Liberty families can visit lms.madisoncity.k12.al.us and James Clemens families at jchs.madisoncity.k12.al.us.
