HUNTSVILLE – Nancy Archuleta has been named interim president of Pope John Paul II Catholic High School at 7301 Old Madison Pike in Huntsville.

Having served as co-chair of the high school, Archuleta was instrumental in the development and advancement of the new school that serves more than 400 students in the Huntsville area.

Early in her career, Archuleta owned her own firm with the Prudential Insurance Company. Archuleta founded MEVATEC in 1985 and served as company president. She sold her company to BAE Analytical Solutions, where she served as president emeritus of analytical solutions.

Since 2011, she has been owner/operator of Carriage House Management.

A native of Las Cruces, N.M., Archuleta is an alumna of the University of California and New Mexico State University. New Mexico State awarded her an honorary doctorate of law in 2002. Then in 2013, Norwich University in Northfield, Vt. gave her an honorary doctorate of business administration.

During her career, Archuleta has held executive positions in business and program administration, personnel management, education and counseling in several states.

Archuleta has served on the Alabama Aerospace Commission and Alabama Commission on Constitutional Reform. Three U.S. presidents have recognized her for promoting equal opportunities for women, minorities and small businesses.

She and husband Daniel live in Huntsville. She serves as chair of the finance council at St. Joseph Catholic Church.

In 2005, the Archuletas donated to augment women’s athletics at Norwich University. Norwich now has women’s volleyball, lacrosse, ice hockey and rugby teams playing at the varsity level. Additionally, in 2001 they endowed a professorship at the School of Nursing at New Mexico State.
