Wayne Loren Butler October 5, 1945 – April 18, 2014

Wayne Loren Butler, 68, of Madison passed away Friday, April 18, 2014. Mr. Butler was preceded in death by his parents, Oakley and Elsie Butler, Mother and Father-in-law, Walter and Mary Zahnd. He was survived by his loving wife, Martha Zahnd Butler, son, Tony Wilson Butler and Tony’s wife Susie, very special granddaughters, Amber Lynn and Crystal Nicole Butler, brother, Jackie (Sandy) Butler, sister, JoAnne White and JoAnne’s husband, Gene. He was also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and Martha’s family that he dearly loved. Mr. Butler leaves behind some very special friends, Nathan and Cindy Wallace, Henry and MaryLou Blackburn along with many other special friends all over the world. He held his church family at Madison Bible Church dear to his heart. Wayne was a Vietnam Veteran, serving our county in the United States Air Force.

Pallbrearers, Kevin Wayne Butler, Jon Scott Butler, Nicholas Georgiou, Kevin Clanton, Kirk Eaton, Ron Inman, Randy Jackson, Todd McGee and Tyrone Zahnd. Honorary pallbearers, Dr. Jason Smith, Dr. Dietre-Joiner Nichols, Dr. David Morgan, Dr. David P. Tietjen, Dr. Marco Cioppi, Dr. William J. McFeely, Jr. Special thanks to Family Hospice Care and Lincare and a very special thank you to Terri and Eric (Lincare).

Visitation was held Monday, April 21, 2014 from 5p.m. – 7p.m. Funeral service was held Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 2p.m. at Madison Chapel Funeral Home with burial at Faith Memorial Mausoleum. To honor Wayne’s devotion to the University of Alabama, the family asked that an Alabama shirt and blue jeans be worn to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations to the Wounded Warrior Project, Make-a-wish Foundation, or a charity of choice.
