HUNTSVILLE – An upcoming, free workshop will show military veterans practical ways to return to civilian life and to adapt to a suitable job.

NMR Consulting will present the Military-to- Civilian (M2C) Transition Assistance Workshop on May 16 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Redstone Federal Credit Union headquarters, 220 Wynn Drive in Huntsville.

To produce this program, NMR is in partnership with Still Serving Veterans, local human resource professionals, service members and veterans. This is the first time that the workshop has been presented in Huntsville.

All participants will receive individualized assistance in effectively writing resumes, preparing for interviews with mock interviews and creating or revising online profiles. For these activities, professionals in the human resources industry, veterans of NMR and teaming partners will give individualized assistance to veterans.

Participants will receive a continental breakfast, lunch and snacks.

Organizers said the free, daylong workshop will hone the job-seeking skills of military members as they transition into the civilian workforce.

The workshop is open to 30 participants maximum to guarantee individualized attention. At the end of the day, a group of veterans who have transitioned successfully will lead a question-and-answer panel discussion.
