HUNTSVILLE – An upcoming, free workshop will show military veterans practical ways to return to civilian life and to adapt to a suitable job.

NMR Consulting will present the Military-to- Civilian (M2C) Transition Assistance Workshop on May 16 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Redstone Federal Credit Union headquarters, 220 Wynn Drive in Huntsville.

To produce this program, NMR is in partnership with Still Serving Veterans, local human resource professionals, service members and veterans. This is the first time that the workshop has been presented in Huntsville.

All participants will receive individualized assistance in effectively writing resumes, preparing for interviews with mock interviews and creating or revising online profiles. For these activities, professionals in the human resources industry, veterans of NMR and teaming partners will give individualized assistance to veterans.

Participants will receive a continental breakfast, lunch and snacks.

Organizers said the free, daylong workshop will hone the job-seeking skills of military members as they transition into the civilian workforce.

The workshop is open to 30 participants maximum to guarantee individualized attention. At the end of the day, a group of veterans who have transitioned successfully will lead a question-and-answer panel discussion.

NMR Consulting is an award-winning, service-disabled and veteran-owned small business. Military veterans make up more than half of its management staff.

Founded in 1996, NMR Consulting has witnessed double-digit growth since graduating the SBA 8(a) Program in 2007. Eighty-eight percent of NMR personnel hold security clearances, and employees hold more than 200 management and IT certifications. Visit nmrconsulting.com.

Still Serving Veterans help veterans and their families progress from military life with jobs and training, career coaching and assisting with Veterans Administration claims and benefits. Visit stillservingveterans.org.

Registration is required. For more information or to attend the M2C workshop, call Cory Thacker at 256-469-8571 or email to cthacker@nmrconsulting.com.
