HUNTSVILLE – One little LEGO(r) block isn’t that impressive but assemble thousands into a cityscape and you have an upcoming exhibit at Huntsville-Madison County Public Library.

The Tennessee Valley LEGO Club will reprise its annual LEGO show at the main library auditorium in Huntsville at 915 Monroe St. on June 21-22.

“Last year, the LEGO show drew more than 1,100 people to the main library downtown for the two-day event,” library communications director Ann Marie Martin said. “Expect the club’s biggest local LEGO display yet.”

Club members have built many structures and objects, such as a Ferris wheel in an amusement park, a railroad encircling a cityscape, skyscrapers, and city street scenes — even the space shuttle. Construction workers, pedestrians and children made from LEGOs keep the city running smoothly.

The LEGO show at the library will include various other activities, dozens of door prizes and a play brick area for kids to get hands-on time with the building blocks.

Founded in 2008, the Tennessee Valley LEGO Club serves the adult LEGO fan community of North Alabama and East Tennessee. (tnvlc.org). Most members are professionals in their thirties and forties who live in the Huntsville-Madison area. However, any individual who is 18 years old or older can join.

Members in the Tennessee Valley LEGO Club are interested in the gamut of LEGO themes, including trains, cities, Mindstorms and numerous other projects.

The club holds at least four public exhibitions each year. Members support numerous fan events, like BrickFair in Birmingham and Brickworld in Chicago. Jennifer Garlen is president of the local LEGO Club.

On June 21, show hours will be 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. On June 22, the show will run from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Admission is $5 each day.
