NORMAL – Brass fanfares, percussion thunder and razor-sharp synchronicity of dancers, flags and rifles will mesmerize the audience when the Drum Corp International (DCI) tour visits Alabama A&M University.

The DCI drum and bugle corps will perform on July 25 at 6:30 p.m. in Louis Crews Stadium at Alabama A&M. The U.S. Army Music Program is presenting the DCI North Alabama.

DCI North Alabama will feature a robust lineup of world class corps. From the West Coast, The Cascades of Seattle, Wash. and Pacific Crest of Diamond Bar, Calif. will perform.

Corps from the Mid-West include The Colts of Dubuque, Iowa; Blue Stars of La Crosse, Wis.; Madison Scouts of Madison, Wis., one of the most venerable groups in DCI history; Pioneer of Milwaukee, Wis.; and Troopers of Casper, Wyo.

From the western United States, Crossmen of San Antonio, Texas will march, along with The Academy of Tempe, Ariz. and Blue Knights of Denver, Colo.

From the Northeast, Jersey Surf Drum & Bugle Corps of Camden County, N.J. will be on the tour. The only corps from the Southeast will be Spirit of Atlanta of Atlanta, Ga.

In 2013, one corps bunked down at Discovery Middle School’s gym and used the Panther Field for marching practice. Spectators were allowed to view the rehearsals free.

Tickets are $25 and $35. Tickets increase $5 the day of the show. Groups of 20 or more receive a $5 discount on seats in the Super sections.

In the 1970s, DCI started with modest beginnings but has developed into a powerful, nonprofit youth activity with participation from young adults around the world. Through the annual DCI Tour and more than 35 World Championships in 17 North American cities, DCI provides entertainment to millions through live performances and nationally televised events

To buy tickets, call 317-275-1212 or visit dcitickets.showare.com/ordertickets.asp?p=279. For more information, visit dci.org.
