MADISON – Jason B. Quick is one of four new assistant principals at Bob Jones High School.

During his career, Quick has taught grades 9-12 in computer technology, business economics, virtual enterprise, personal finance, workforce essentials, career preparedness and cooperative learning.

He also coached golf, football and softball at South Gibson County (Tenn.) High School and softball at Huntsville High School. The Quick family moved from Tennessee to Huntsville in 2013.

“My one year at Huntsville High was my first exposure to a larger school setting. My previous years were spent at a county school with an enrollment of 700-plus students,” Quick said.

Obviously, Bob Jones’ facility and student population are larger. “However, as with most schools, the key to success, regardless of size, is building meaningful relationships with all of the school’s stakeholders … something I am much looking forward to doing as school approaches,” Quick said.

Even living in Tennessee, Quick was aware of Bob Jones’ reputation for excellence in academics and athletics. “I knew it was a setting that I wanted to become involved in and further my learning in how to create the optimal school culture and environment,” he said.

He appreciates relationships that he’s developing with colleagues, both at school and within the district. “Working alongside Mr. (Robby) Parker has allowed me to better understand key factors in establishing this culture of excellence that Bob Jones enjoys,” Quick said.

Quick’s primary focus “revolves around school operations and maintaining the positive environment at Bob Jones. I will oversee school discipline, custodial services and testing coordination.”

He earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degrees in educational leadership at the University of Tennessee in Martin. Before teaching, he had a successful, 20-plus-year career as a healthcare executive.

His wife, Dr. Beth Quick, chairs the education department at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Their children are Mackenzie, a sophomore at the University of Mississippi; Madison, 15, Bob Jones sophomore; and Camden, 10, Rainbow Elementary School fifth-grader.
