Ray Lavon Pickrell March 9, 1930 – March 7, 2015

Ray L. Pickrell of Madison, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 7th at his home surrounded by his family. He was a Veteran of the Korean War, Mason, and served in the Army and Air Force, and was a member of Northside Baptist Church. Mr. Pickrell retired from Redstone Arsenal. He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his wife, Alice Ayers Pickrell, three children, Larry Ayers (Tammy), Kathy Saladino (Anthony), Karen Ayers, three grandchildren, Michael Hill (Mae), Sarah Ayers and Nicole Miller (Steve), four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Boots Collette (Dick) of Vero Beach, FL, Shirley Walker (Joe) of Austin, TX, one brother, Andrew Pickrell (Sue) of Kingston, TN, sister-in-law, Barbara Cosper of Bowden, GA, and several nieces and nephews. Visitation was Saturday, March 14th at Spry Funeral Home from 11am to 1:30 pm. The funeral service followed at 1:30 pm with Pastor James Damron officiating. Pallbearers were Michael Hill, Anthony Saladino, Floyd Ricketts, Bobby Hall, Robert Tuck and Charlie Sisk. Burial followed in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
