Dublin to host Disc Dog Days on May 9-10

MADISON – In its premiere in town, Madison Disc Dog Days will feature skilled and athletic animals vying for a state championship.

Dublin Park, 8324 Madison Pike will host the event on May 9-10. Professional trainers will show their dogs in high-flying tricks as they compete to be state champion and qualify for a world championship competition.

Professional teams from throughout the Southeast, along with one from Missouri and one from Michigan, will attend the Madison contest, Mayor Troy Trulock posted on his Facebook page.

Disc Dog Days events are free and open to the public.

On May 9, the dogs will compete for the state championship from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Dublin Field no. 1.

Families and individuals are welcome to bring their dog for fun activities from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dublin field no. 2. The lighthearted competition will include a best dressed and costume contest from 10 to 10:30 a.m. The “Loudest Bark” trials will be held from 10:30 to 11 a.m.

From 11 to 11:30 a.m., the professional owners and dogs will demonstrate Frisbee throwing. From noon to 12:30, dogs will vie for “Best Talent” honors, followed by “Best in Show” competition.

The professional owners and their dogs will present a Frisbee throwing demonstration from 1 to 1:30 p.m. The “Best Pet Lookalike” contest will be held at 1:30 p.m.

On May 10, the second day of Madison Disc Dog Days will see the dogs compete for the world championship qualifier from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Dublin field no. 1.
