MADISON – A local business, Family Security Credit Union (FSCU) in Madison, is putting together a charity golf tournament to be held on Aug. 31 at Burningtree Country Club in Decatur.

All proceeds from the tournament, officially titled “Golf Fore a Cure,” will go to the American Cancer Society to help fund cancer research. It is the company’s fourth annual tournament. The cost for a four-person team is $400.

Numerous sponsorship opportunities are also available for the Monday event. Registration and lunch will start concurrently at 11 a.m., with a “shotgun start” occurring at 1 p.m.

Platinum, gold and silver sponsorships are currently available, running $1,000, $750 and $500, respectively. Contests such as “longest drive” and “closest to the pin” are also in need of sponsorships. Mulligans for the less-seasoned golfers are available for $10 at registration.

There will also be a wall displaying any cancer survivors that players wish to be recognized at the event. An “in memoriam” section of the remembrance wall will also be available for those who wish.

All information on sponsorships, costs and other pertinent information can be found on the registration form. The form can be obtained at myfscu.com/golf-for-a-cure.

“They can fax, email or mail that form to Family Security Credit Union,” FSCU marketing specialist Amy Vermillion said.

The address for Burningtree Country Club is 2521 Burningtree Drive, Decatur, 35603. Family Security Credit Union can be reached at 256-772-0741.
