HARVEST – The Southeastern Radio Control Glider event will be held Oct. 1-4 at Epps Airfield in Harvest.

Twenty-plus pilots will fly their radio-control gliders during this four-day event. “Practice fly will be on Oct. 1-2. Competitive flying will be on Oct. 2-4,” publicist Cliff Lanham said.

Some pilots can sail their gliders aloft for up to 45 minutes.

Members of the North Alabama Radio Control Association (NARCA) are working with glider enthusiasts to present this event. Pilots who want to fly in this event should contact Tim Batt at tbatt@knology.net or call Lanham at 256-325-3775.

The NARCA field (Epps Field) is on Carroll Road near the intersection with Harvest Road. Motorists should use the field entrance on Carroll Road.

This free event is open to the public. For more information, call Lanham at 256-325-3775 or email to clanham@knology.net.
