MADISON – A special evening of entertainment will captivate guests at the third annual “March on Madison,” a marching exposition by bands from both middle schools and high schools in Madison.

Bob Jones High School Marching band is hosting this year’s expo on Sept. 29 at 6:30 p.m. in Madison City Schools Stadium, 211 Celtic Drive.

“March on Madison provides the community with a unique opportunity to view all the marching shows in one night,” spokesperson Kelley Grant said. The event “also showcases Bob Jones’ smaller competition marching show, only performed at regional events around the area.”

Bob Jones Band will perform its 2015 football half-time show and the competition show, “Bridging the Gap.” Leigh Thomas is Bob Jones Director of Bands, and Kevin Smart is assistant director.

Performances will highlight the citywide band programs and include Discovery Middle School Band, Liberty Middle School Band, and James Clemens High School Marching Band. The middle schools will combine for one performance, and the Jets and Patriot bands will merge for a joint performance.

Led by director Keith Anderson, James Clemens High School Band will present their 2015 show, “A Time to Speak.” Stuart Tankesley works as assistant director.

Tickets are $5. Children younger than five years old will be admitted free, as will elementary students wearing spirit wear for their school, Bob Jones or James Clemens. Tickets are available from any band member or at the event.

Event proceeds will benefit each band, along with helping Bob Jones Marching Band to fund its trip to Orlando for the Russell Athletic Bowl.

Gates and concession stands will open at 5:30 p.m. “Come early and bring your family and friends out for an evening of entertainment,” Grant said.
