MADISON – Christian Women’s Job Corps of Madison County Inc., which has an office in Madison, is accepting applications for the Spring 2016 semester.

The corps helps any woman who is 18 to 60 years old in need of financial, spiritual or emotional assistance and striving to enter the job market after a lengthy absence, Susan Elder said. Elder works as site coordinator for the corps’ office in Madison at Inside-Out Ministries, 103 Gin Oaks Court.

These women “may need employment but lack basic job and life skills, such as computer skills or how to write a professional resume,” Elder said. Their goal is to get a better paying job.

The corps’ classes are free to students. Students can study life planning, career coaching, Microsoft office & computer training, Bible study and money management, Elder said.

Corps classes have a 10-week semester. “We are currently taking applications for Spring 2016 semester,” Elder said. “Application deadline for the Madison site is Jan. 28.”

Christian Women’s Job Corps will conduct classes at three locations in Madison County.

The office at Inside-Out Ministries will conduct classes on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Whitesburg Baptist Church at its campus at 3911 Pulaski Pike also will have 10 weeks of classes, Monday through Wednesday from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

First Baptist Church in Huntsville, 600 Governors Drive will offer classes on Monday through Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

To print an application, visit cwjc.net. Individuals can pick up or drop off printed applications at First Baptist’s front office in Huntsville or Inside-Out in Madison.

For information about applying for classes, call Charmika Merriweather at 256-428-9461 or email to cmerriweather@cwjc.net.
