MADISON – Brock Anderson describes the game of baseball as a “very humbling sport” but the one that he appreciates more than any other sport.

Anderson, a senior at Sparkman High School, recently signed a Division I scholarship with the University of Washington. Along with playing baseball for the Sparkman Senators, Anderson participates with the Marucci Elite team.

He handles the positions of outfield and pitcher.

“Baseball is still fun to play and makes you learn how to play with others around you,” he said.

Brock’s parents are Jeff and Nina Anderson. “My dad works at Miltec Corporation and is director of system engineering. Mom works at ARCS, and she is a budget analyst,” Brock said.

Mollie Anderson and Morgan Anderson are Brock’s siblings. Mollie is enrolled in the second year of law school. Morgan is a junior at the University of Alabama in Huntsville.

Q: Where do you go out to eat in Madison?

A: Brock is a big fan of the hot wings at Cricket’s.

Q: What’s your favorite food?

A: Macaroni and cheese.

Q: What are your favorite sports teams?

A: Brock follows the University of Washington, University of Alabama Crimson Tide football, Cleveland Cavaliers basketball and Dallas Cowboys football.

Q: What’s your favorite sports memory?

A: Brock always will remember when Sparkman won the state championship during his sophomore year.

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?

A: Brock goes to the gym, hangs out with friends and plays video games on his PlayStation 4.
