Schools closing after-school activities for Feb. 2

MADISON COUNTY – A threat of severe weather during the afternoon and evening on Feb. 2 has led most schools districts in Madison County to close all events and activities after regular hours.

Madison City Schools, Madison County Schools, Huntsville City Schools and Westminster Christian Academy have canceled after-school activities on Feb. 2.

For Madison City Schools, the cancellation includes extended-day services. The Central Office in Madison will close at 3:30 p.m.

Heart of the Valley YMCA will issue a statement around noon on Feb. 2. Residents can check for updates at

ymcahuntsville.org or Facebook/Heart of the Valley YMCA.
