Sparkman depends on Miller as point guard

Athlete of the Week

MADISON – Brandon Miller at Sparkman High School does not mince words when he talks about his favorite sport, basketball.

“Ball is Life,” Miller said. He plays point guard on the Sparkman Senators varsity basketball team. “I grew up playing basketball, and it has always been my favorite sport to play.”

Brandon is in the Class of 2016 at Sparkman. His mother, Robin Miller, is employed by Redstone Arsenal. His brother Breon is in the sophomore class at Sparkman.

Q & A

Q: What restaurants do you like to go to in Madison?

A: Logan’s Roadhouse is a favorite place for Brandon.

Q: What is your favorite food?

A: Chicken tenders.

Q: What are your favorite sports teams?

A: When Brandon is watching college sports, he always roots for the Kentucky Wildcats. For professional sports, he likes the Los Angeles Lakers, along with the Oklahoma City Thunder that competes in the National Basketball Association as a member of the Western Conference Northwest Division.

Q: What’s your favorite sports memory?

A: He always will remember Sparkman’s win in the area tournament against Bob Jones High School in 2015. “I scored 23 points and helped the team move on to regionals,” Brandon said.

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?

A: “I watch television, hang out with friends and go out to eat with the family,” he said.

Q: What are your plans after graduating from Sparkman?

A: “I plan to play college basketball and study to be a civil engineer. I’m undecided about which college at the moment,” Brandon said.
