MADISON – Huy Pham will serve as a delegate to the Congress of Future Medical Leaders and Scientists in Lowell, Mass. on June 25-27.

Pham is a sophomore at James Clemens High School.

The congress is an honors-only program for high school students who want to become physicians or go into medical research fields. The event’s purpose is to honor, inspire, motivate and direct top students in the country who aspire to work as physicians or medical scientists.

Medical Director Dr. Robert Darling with the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists nominated Pham. Pham was selected to represent James Clemens for his academic achievement, leadership potential and determination to serve humanity in the field of medicine.

During the three-day congress, Pham will join students to hear Nobel Laureates and National Medal of Science winners discuss medical research. The teenagers will get advice from deans of Ivy League and top medical schools about what to expect in medical school.

The delegates will hear the life stories of patients considered as living medical miracles. Fellow teenagers who are medical science prodigies will speak.

“This is a crucial time in America when we need more doctors and medical scientists who are even better prepared for a future that is changing exponentially,” Richard Rossi said. Rossi is Executive Director of the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists.

“Focused, bright and determined students like Huy Pham are our future. He deserves all the mentoring and guidance we can give him,” Rossi said.

National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists was founded to identify prospective medical talent at the earliest possible age and help these students acquire the necessary experience and skills to enter this vital career.

The academy is based in Washington D.C. and has offices in Boston, Mass. For more information, visit FutureDocs.com.
