Beasley arrested on attempted murder charges

Madison police have arrested Lawrence Oneal Beasley of Huntsville on charges of attempted murder. CONTRIBUTED

MADISON – Madison Police Department has charged a person responsible for a shooting at a local apartment complex.

On June 26 at approximately 11 p.m., Madison police officers responded to a shooting in progress at Carrington Cove Apartments in Madison. Police found an occupied vehicle that had been shot numerous times with a pistol. The vehicle’s occupant was not injured.

Madison police officers obtained an arrest warrant for Lawrence Oneal Beasley, 29, of Huntsville for attempted murder. Beasley was detained on June 30 in Huntsville by Huntsville police officers and turned over to Madison police.

Beasley was booked into Madison County Jail on a $60,000 bond. The case is still under investigation and more charges are anticipated.

Madison Police Department acknowledged Huntsville Police Department for their assistance in this apprehension.
