MADISON – Christian Women’s Job Corps (CWJC) of Madison County has a new site in Madison at Heritage United Methodist Church.

Heritage UMC’s address is 29768 Huntsville Brownsferry Road, which is just west of County Line Road. “We’re now being hosted by the newly formed Heritage UMC of Madison, formerly Crosswinds UMC.  Revs. Michael and Suzanne Katschke, a married couple, are co-pastors,” CWJC site coordinator Susan Elder said.

“Our partnership with Heritage UMC meets our strategic goal to reach into Limestone County and Madison County while still being in the Madison area,” Elder said. “We will be more visible by daily traffic.”

“We are grateful to have been hosted by Inside-Out Ministries for four successful semesters: Fall 2014, Spring 2015, Fall 2015 and Spring 2016. Fifteen ladies graduated from CWJC Madison during this time, and seven more completed Phase 1 and are currently in Phase 2,” Elder said.

“Inside-Out has provided services for our CWJC ladies including food boxes, counseling and utility assistance,” Elder said. “Please join me in thanking Inside-Out for loving our ladies.”

In a volunteer opportunity, individuals are needed to supply meals for students in job corps classes. The corps offers classes to women from 18 to 60 years old in basic computer skills, job search skills, money management and Bible study, Elder said. This semester’s classes started in August.

Approximately 10 to 15 servings will be needed for each meal, held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

Elder suggests light, seasonal ideas for the lunches:

* Crock-pot soup, bread, cookies, drinks.
* Sub sandwiches, cookies, drinks.
* Barbecue baked potatoes, dessert, drinks.
* One crock-pot meal, dessert, drinks.

“In addition to weekly meals, we also have three special events each semester where meals, decorations and servers are needed,” Elder said. “Celebrations would include an entree like a large casserole or crock pot casserole, salad, bread, dessert and drinks.”

“We welcome you to stay and eat lunch with us. Amazing relationships have formed over a shared table,” Elder said.

Along with numerous individuals, volunteer servers for this semester include Messiah Lutheran Church, Lydia Circle at Asbury United Methodist Church and Madison Christian Church.
