MADISON – Like many of his peers in Madison, Jonathan Duncan likes to learn about the rules of play in different games with the Upward Sports program.

Jonathan plays both basketball and flag football with Upward Sports. During summer, he trains for Pesky Piranha Triathlon in Huntsville.

Because the game involves lots of running, flag football is Jonathan’s favorite sport.

“We home-school our kids, but they go to Life Christian Academy for Friday classes,” his mother Miki Duncan said. She is both a home-school mom and swim instructor at Madison Hospital Wellness Center. Jonathan’s father James Duncan works as a network engineer for enfoPoint Solutions.

Jonathan is in third grade. “We’re also part of Christian education called Classical Conversations,” Miki said. Jonathan’s sister, Hannah Duncan, is in fourth grade with Life Christian Academy.

The Duncans moved to Madison in 2003 for James’ job.
