MADISON – Jay Miller enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in January 1997.
“I served 5 years and 10 months on active duty, exiting in 2002 at the rank of Staff Sergeant,” Miller said. “I served an additional six years in the Ohio National Guard at the same rank.”
Miller completed basic training at Lackland Air Force Base (AFB) in San Antonio, Texas in the 321st Training Squadron. After technical training at Keesler AFB in Biloxi, Miss., he was stationed permanently at Tinker AFB, Okla. with 552d Air Control Wing.
“There I served as an avionics/radar technician on the E-3 AWACS,” Miller said. “During my time, I deployed multiple times in support of Operations Northern and Southern Watch (Saudi Arabia and Turkey).”
He attended the University of Kentucky, Community College of the Air Force and Franklin University and earned degrees in business administration and avionics systems technology.
In November 2013, Miller moved to Madison for a position with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) in Huntsville. Originally from Louisville, Ky., Miller currently works as a Supervisory Contract Specialist with DCMA Huntsville with oversight of 3,000-plus government contracts.
He and Enecia Miller have been married 14 years. She is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Currently, Enecia Miller works as a program Analyst for Alcohol Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF) on Redstone Arsenal. Alex and Enecia have two sons — Jaylan and Justin.
Jay Miller is a member of Defense Acquisition Corps and the Huntsville alumni chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.
“I am an avid golfer and enjoy fishing and spending time with my family,” Miller said.
